Artificial intelligence is fundamentally transforming industrial value creation. At SCHUNK, the development of these skills begins during vocational training. At the training center, apprentices and students are developing adaptive robotic systems based on the “LeRobot” open-source project. This gives them first-hand experience of how AI, mechatronics, and automation interact and enables them to develop a practical understanding of the systems involved. Technology is not merely taught; trainees and students actively explore and develop it.
The experience gained will feed into other formats, such as a “Physical AI” hackathon organized by the Innovation Park Artificial Intelligence (IPAI), as well as new training modules. By integrating this practical field of innovation into its training programs, SCHUNK specifically is fostering the skills needed to use and develop the intelligent products of tomorrow.
