With the state-wide competition entitled AI Champions BW, the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism honors companies that combine innovation and practical relevance with artificial intelligence – including SCHUNK’s 2D Grasping Kit in 2025.
The aim is to highlight flagship projects that strengthen the business location. The Minister of Economic Affairs, Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, summarizes: “AI is a decisive driver of innovation for Baden-Württemberg.” The award-winning 2D Grasping Kit was specially developed for the requirements of small and medium-sized enterprises, and combines intelligent, AI-supported object recognition with flexible gripping. In the Industrial Metaverse, the kit’s AI is constantly being developed further. Digital twins make it possible to simulate complete automation processes in advance. The product had already persuaded the HERMES Award jury in 2024 – and now the jury of AI Champions BW has drawn the same conclusion.
