Change of legal form

In the spring, SCHUNK changed its legal form from a GmbH (limited liability company) to an SE, setting the course for international growth. Everything stays the same for customers!

The company‘s official name is now SCHUNK SE & Co.KG. The SE stands for “Societas Europaea”, a legal form created in 2004 by the EU that makes it easier for companies to operate throughout Europe.

Kristina I. Schunk, Chairwoman of the Management Board, says: “The SE was a logical step for us because it is a globally recognized legal form. We now have 34 foreign subsidiaries.” In this respect, it was time to adapt the legal form accordingly.

“It was important to us that all relevant functions will stay in family hands.”

Still a family-owned company

This step does not change the ownership structure: SCHUNK remains 100 percent family-owned. The new legal form will help support the pursuit of international growth.
