If you have ever unlocked a car door using a remote car key, you were likely using a piece of elec\u00adtronics that was processed on a machine from SCHUNK Elec\u00adtronic Solu\u00adtions. The plant in St. Georgen manu\u00adfac\u00adtures depan\u00adeling machines that divide printed circuit boards with tenth-of-a-millimeter preci\u00adsion and then feed them into the down\u00adstream process chain by means of a gripper system. Due to linear motor drives devel\u00adoped and produced in-house, the depan\u00adeling machines are so fast and precise that customers all over the world are using these machines from the Black Forest. \u201cOur focus here at the site is obvi\u00adously the elec\u00adtronics and auto\u00admo\u00adtive supply indus\u00adtries,\u201d says Jochen Ehmer, Managing Director of the site.<\/p>\n

The name \u2013 SCHUNK Elec\u00adtronics Solu\u00adtions \u2013 bears witness to the heritage of the site, which was formerly home to the \u201cGesellschaft f\u00fcr Antrieb und Steuerung\u00adstechnik\u201d. In the mean\u00adtime, it has become part of the SCHUNK group of compa\u00adnies. After two moves within the town, the area covered by the plant has now doubled. 170 people work across 8,400 square meters \u2013 in 2008, when SCHUNK started oper\u00ada\u00adtions there, there were just 40. \u201cWe\u2019ve achieved good growth here,\u201d says Ehmer.<\/p>\n

SCHUNK Elec\u00adtronics Solu\u00adtions is well-known and respected locally, and coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion with schools and univer\u00adsi\u00adties in the area ensures an influx of talented young people. Eight young people started training at the site in September 2022. <\/span><\/p>\n
