Our internal processes also benefit greatly from AI: we use gener\u00ada\u00adtive AI to support docu\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion in commu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adtion, HR, and sales. It quickly became clear that we could signif\u00adi\u00adcantly increase our produc\u00adtivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are the prereq\u00adui\u00adsites for compa\u00adnies to inte\u00adgrate AI?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Enthu\u00adsiasm and open\u00adness to new tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies, courage, and a \u201ccan-do\u201d mentality. It is also impor\u00adtant to build up skills throughout the company. The best way to do this is to work together with part\u00adners in order to learn from one another \u2013 for example at the IPAI in Heil\u00adbronn. We involve our employees in the intro\u00adduc\u00adtion of AI right from the start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How did SCHUNK proceed with the intro\u00adduc\u00adtion?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We initially started with a small pilot group made up of various depart\u00adments. This group tested the AI in their everyday work and provided feed\u00adback. Word of this quickly spread among the work\u00adforce and aroused interest. Within a few weeks, the group had grown to 30 employees. We then orga\u00adnized regular meet-ups in which we exchanged our expe\u00adri\u00adences and coor\u00addi\u00adnated further devel\u00adop\u00adments for opti\u00admiza\u00adtion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns alignwide bild-zitat is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column responsive-top is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:28%\"><div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-rounded\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bluejournal.schunk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2025\/05\/Daniela_Hermle.webp\" alt class=\"wp-image-2660\" style=\"object-fit:cover;width:220px;height:220px\"><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-bottom is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:72%\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-left is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">\u201cColleagues will only use AI in their everyday work if they recog\u00adnize the bene\u00adfits.\u201d<\/p>\n<cite>Daniela Hermle, Head of Digital Office, SCHUNK<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">And what happened next?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, we launched the SCHUNK Tech Talks, in which SCHUNK employees present new tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies and report on their own expe\u00adri\u00adences from their daily work. In addi\u00adtion, we offer all employees both on-site and online training courses on digi\u00adtal\u00adiza\u00adtion and AI. The global test run of our specially devel\u00adoped SCHUNK GPT proto\u00adtype took place at the end of 2023. It was really exciting. All employees had access and were able to test the AI exten\u00adsively. We received a lot of posi\u00adtive and construc\u00adtive feed\u00adback as a result. This enabled us to signif\u00adi\u00adcantly improve our SCHUNK GPT before its offi\u00adcial release in February 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">That sounds like a culture of inno\u00adva\u00adtion in action. Were there no AI critics in the work\u00adforce?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, we had that, too. The biggest concerns were around the topics of data secu\u00adrity and \u201challu\u00adci\u00adna\u00adtion\u201d \u2013 i.e., when the AI provides false or ficti\u00adtious infor\u00adma\u00adtion. It was there\u00adfore all the more impor\u00adtant for us to have the employees present at every step and to focus on personal exchange \u2013in part to break down prej\u00adu\u00addices, learn from each other, and further develop the SCHUNK GPT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">So, open commu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adtion for broad accep\u00adtance?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Precisely. We do not simply present our colleagues with a fait accompli, but involve them at an early stage, listen to their opin\u00adions, and take feed\u00adback seri\u00adously. This creates active partic\u00adi\u00adpa\u00adtion and the rapid recog\u00adni\u00adtion of the bene\u00adfits of AI in everyday working life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does SCHUNK GPT help colleagues in specific terms?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>It mainly takes on the small tasks that are always repeated according to a certain pattern. For example, in tech\u00adnical docu\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion. There, SCHUNK GPT provides support in the creation of stan\u00addard-compliant instruc\u00adtions according to fixed spec\u00adi\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtions as well as in commu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adtion when creating texts for various media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">That sounds like a prac\u00adtical everyday helper. What\u2019s next for AI?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>SCHUNK GPT is set to become an everyday helper in many other areas. For example, in devel\u00adop\u00adment or customer service, where we still see great poten\u00adtial.
