State-of-the-art power elec\u00adtronics, such as those produced by Semi\u00adkron Danfoss, are of central impor\u00adtance here. They are tested for various para\u00adme\u00adters on the six-meter-long track: static, optical, tactile, dynamic and elec\u00adtronic. If every\u00adthing is OK, a laser station labels the parts and they are ready for ship\u00adment. But how do the compo\u00adnents get onto the conveyor belt in the first place? Hanno Bruss explains: \u201cThe linchpin of this system is the contin\u00aduous and secure feeding of compo\u00adnents from a robot cell.\u201d He clar\u00adi\u00adfies: \u201cThe gripper is there\u00adfore of partic\u00adular impor\u00adtance.\u201d Semi\u00adkron Danfoss has opted for the mecha\u00adtronic parallel gripper EGU in size 50 from SCHUNK. Thise flex\u00adi\u00adbility of the SCHUNK gripper was a deci\u00adsive factor in the selec\u00adtion.\u201d In addi\u00adtion, the parallel gripper is below the upper weight limit of the robot appli\u00adca\u00adtion. And some\u00adthing else was impor\u00adtant to Bruss: \u201cA short start-up distance. Because we have to drive into a pretty tight space here. Other grip\u00adpers on the market required at least three to four millime\u00adters of start-up distance, which was too much for us. The EGU doesn\u2019t need any start-up distance at all.\u201d Main\u00adtaining the grip\u00adping force in the event of a voltage drop and the ability to inte\u00adgrate and monitor the EGU easily were addi\u00adtional argu\u00adments that persuaded Semi\u00adkron Danfoss. \u201cThe gripper has met all our require\u00adments and offers us process reli\u00ada\u00adbility.
