And he knows exactly what he\u2019s talking about.<\/p>\n<h2>Quick-change pallet system as the basis for preci\u00adsion<\/h2>\n<p>He and his team oversee 3D metal printing at the company. For this purpose, the company purchased the modern Lasertec 30 Dual SLM from DMG Mori for gener\u00ada\u00adtive manu\u00adfac\u00adturing by selec\u00adtive laser melting (SLM). This \u201c3D printer\u201d can be used to gener\u00ada\u00adtively manu\u00adfac\u00adture highly complex compo\u00adnents with differ\u00aden\u00adti\u00adated func\u00adtional inte\u00adgra\u00adtion in a powder bed heated up to 200 degrees Celsius. This so-called hybrid printing process, melting work\u00adpieces onto prefab\u00adri\u00adcated compo\u00adnents, is also achieved at Neher. In this process, geomet\u00adri\u00adcally simple work\u00adpiece compo\u00adnents are manu\u00adfac\u00adtured conven\u00adtion\u00adally, and the complex geome\u00adtries are then addi\u00adtively \u201cprinted\u201d onto the hybrid blank. For this purpose, the clamping pins of the quick-change pallet system are mounted directly on the hybrid blank.<\/p>\n<p>This approach utilizes the advan\u00adtages of both processes and signif\u00adi\u00adcantly reduces manu\u00adfac\u00adturing costs. The runtime of the 3D printer is short\u00adened, meaning it can move on to the next job faster.<\/p>\n<p>A prereq\u00adui\u00adsite for the precise and effi\u00adcient produc\u00adtion of these kinds of work\u00adpieces is the absolutely precise clamping of the substrate plate on which the product is addi\u00adtively built in the machine room. It always reli\u00adably guar\u00adan\u00adtees us the fixed posi\u00adtion on the machine table side,\u201d explains Tobias Niess.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"noTypo\">\u201cWe can't imagine our production processes without this quick-change pallet system!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><cite>Tobias Niess,<br>\nDevel\u00adoper at the Neher Group <\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>At Neher, four VERO\u2011S NSE-HT mini 88\u201320 modules are used, as well as a VERO\u2011S NE-HT mini 36 quick-change pallet unit in the center. The quick-change pallet unit defines the thermal zero point for large substrate plates via a centric clamping pin. The clamping itself takes place simul\u00adta\u00adne\u00adously via the remaining four clamping pins. An inte\u00adgrated spring assembly secures the clamping perma\u00adnently and is self-locking\u2013 air is only required for the opening process.<\/p>\n<h2>Sealing concept keeps out dust and abra\u00adsive mate\u00adrials<\/h2>\n<p>The second major chal\u00adlenge for the clamping system is that it is perma\u00adnently exposed to the highly abra\u00adsive mate\u00adrials. But the SCHUNK sealing concept makes it possible to resist the finest metal dusts that pene\u00adtrate even the tiniest crevices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur sealing concept is so reli\u00adable that the clamping system is even suit\u00adable for immer\u00adsion baths,\u201d confirms Benjamin Hirz. \u201cUnder all of these envi\u00adron\u00admental condi\u00adtions, a perma\u00adnently high force is main\u00adtained on the clamping slide, which ensures absolute process reli\u00ada\u00adbility. Even if fine metal powder gets into the cutting area, the clamping slides do not get blocked. The module clamps reli\u00adably.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Long life span<\/h2>\n<p>One single VERO\u2011S NSE-HT mini 88\u201320 has been running on the 3D metal printer at Neher for three years. \u201cAbsolutely reli\u00adable and trouble-free and one hundred percent precise,\u201d Tobias Niess empha\u00adsizes.
